Live Classes and the Curriculum
Classes are taught live in a window inside QuantIDE. Thirteen subjects across four levels, a rotation you can join any week, and a capstone you can show employers.
The classroom is in the app
There is no separate video site. A class opens as a window in QuantIDE with a roster, a chat and a class timer, next to the editor you are working in. What the instructor does, you can do in the next pane, on your own machine.
Instructors share their screen, and when your code breaks they can take over and fix it in front of you, rather than describing the fix in a forum reply three days later.
Finding and joining a class
- The Academy tab → Classes shows a three-week calendar. "For you" narrows it to the courses your path says to take next.
- Register to take a seat. Seats are limited and registration closes ahead of class, so register early.
- You get an email the day before and a desktop notice fifteen minutes before.
- There are no cohorts. Lectures recur on a rotation, so if you miss one, it comes round again — early lectures most often.
The curriculum
Thirteen subject areas, from Markets and Programming to Execution, Systems, Risk, Machine Learning and Mathematics. Each area runs four levels, and each level has its own goal:
- 100 — Make it work.
- 200 — Make it right.
- 300 — Make it fast and big.
- 400 — Specialize: choose three electives, plus the capstone.
You build from the first term: a first algorithm in Python, then an order book, a benchmarked matching engine, Rust and concurrency. C++ is covered alongside Python and Rust.
What you can do along the way
- 01Backtest a strategy.
- 02Paper trade with a real broker.
- 03Trade live, automated.
- 04Publish your research.
- 05Publish your Stack — the capstone, and the portfolio you apply for quant roles with.
- 06Teach in the Academy.
A course opens once you have completed the courses it builds on, and you complete a course by attending its classes. There is a recommended order, but it is advice, not a rule. The first-term courses are open to everyone from day one.
Where it leads
Roles with QuantIDE open at the higher levels, and they are earned through your Stack and your work — enrolling does not guarantee one. What the Academy does guarantee is the path, the people, and the tools to walk it.
One plan, billed monthly, and the only paid thing in QuantIDE. Download the app, subscribe from inside it, and register for your first class the same day.
See the Academy and its priceYour Advisor
Every Academy member is assigned an advisor: a person who knows where you are in the program and what you should take next.
Office Hours
Drop-in time with instructors for the question you are stuck on. No seat to book and no prerequisites.
Homework
Each course has homework that is graded on your own machine, inside QuantIDE, so practice gets checked the moment you finish it.
