Blackshore Technologies LLC("Company", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use QuantIDE ("the Software", "the Service", "the Platform").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using QuantIDE, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Software.

2. Local-First Architecture

QuantIDE is designed with a local-first architecture. This means:

  • Your trading strategies and code are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers
  • Your backtesting data and results remain on your local machine
  • Your API keys and broker credentials are stored locally and encrypted on your device
  • Your trading history and performance data stays on your computer

We cannot access, view, or recover your trading strategies, code, or local data. You are solely responsible for backing up your local data.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Account Information: Email address and username when you create an account. Passwords are cryptographically hashed (one-way encryption) and cannot be viewed, retrieved, or recovered by anyone, including Blackshore Technologies.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed through our third-party payment processor (we do not store full credit card numbers)
  • Communications: Information you provide when contacting support or providing feedback
  • Profile Information: Optional information you choose to add to your profile

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Software, we may automatically collect:

  • Device Information: Operating system, device type, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: Features used, actions taken, time spent, crash reports (anonymized)
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times, pages viewed
  • License Information: License validation and authentication data

3.3 AI Interaction Data

Important: When you use AI-assisted features, your prompts and code snippets may be sent to third-party AI service providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar providers) for processing. While we minimize data transmission, AI interactions necessarily involve sending some context to generate responses.

We implement the following safeguards for AI interactions:

  • We do not store your AI conversation history on our servers
  • We do not use your code or strategies to train AI models
  • AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for training
  • You can disable AI features entirely if you prefer complete local operation

3.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, access, or store:

  • Your trading strategies or algorithm source code (stored locally only)
  • Your broker API keys or credentials (stored locally and encrypted)
  • Your trading history, positions, or account balances
  • Your backtesting results or performance metrics
  • Your financial information beyond payment processing

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Software
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription
  • Verify your license and prevent unauthorized use
  • Send important notices, updates, and security alerts
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience (anonymized data only)
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. How We Share Your Information

Account information is retained while your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain certain information for up to 90 days for backup purposes and as required by law.

Local Data: Data stored locally on your device (strategies, code, credentials) is under your control. We have no access to this data and cannot delete it remotely. You are responsible for managing your local data.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Access and Portability

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy in a portable format.

8.2 Correction

You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions required by law.

  • Disable AI Features: Use the Software in offline mode without AI assistance
  • Disable Analytics: Opt out of anonymous usage analytics in settings
  • Unsubscribe: Opt out of marketing communications (transactional emails may still be sent)
  • Delete Account: Request complete account deletion by contacting support
