Academy
Documentation tells you what a thing does; it does not get you unstuck. Academy runs live classes in the same environment you build in, so the example being taught is running on your machine, in your editor, and an instructor can take the screen when it goes wrong.
What it does
Held in the app, not on a video site
The classroom is a window in QuantIDE with a roster, chat and a class timer. What the instructor is doing, you can do in the next pane.
Screen share and takeover
Real-time screen sharing with instructor takeover, so a problem gets fixed in front of you rather than described in a forum reply three days later.
Structured, not a playlist
Sessions follow a quantitative engineering path rather than a set of disconnected tutorials, and end with feedback so the next one is better.
The AI is included
The Academy plan carries the student AI engine, so the agent you are learning to argue with is already wired into the workspace you are taught in.
Questions
- Do I need to know Python already?
- No, but you will be reading it. The classes are pitched at people arriving from trading rather than from software, and they teach you to read and argue with the code the agent writes -- because that is the skill, and nobody can hand it to you.
- Where do the classes happen?
- Inside the desktop app. There is no separate video platform to join: the classroom is a window next to your editor, so what is taught runs on your machine as it is taught.
- Are classes recorded?
- Sessions are live and interactive by design. The current schedule is in the Academy window in the app.
- Can I try the app before paying for the Academy?
- Yes. The download is free and the workbench is usable without a plan. The Academy is a subscription you start from inside the app when you want to be taught.
