P2P Encrypted Chat
Connect with other traders privately. Share ideas without exposing your edge.
Last updated: Jan 28, 2026
QuantIDE includes peer-to-peer encrypted chat so traders can collaborate without exposing their strategies. No server sees your messages. No logs are kept. Just traders helping traders.
Why P2P Encryption?
Traditional trading communities have a trust problem. Share too much and someone copies your edge. Share too little and you can't get help. P2P encryption solves this:
- Messages are encrypted end-to-end
- QuantIDE servers never see message content
- No chat logs or history stored
- Direct connection between traders
- Share code snippets safely
Starting a Conversation
Access the chat from the Community tab in the IDE:
- Browse online traders in the community directory
- Send a connection request with a brief intro
- Once accepted, chat is fully encrypted
- Share text, code snippets, or strategy ideas
- Disconnect anytime—no history remains
What You Can Share
The chat supports:
- Plain text messages
- Code snippets with syntax highlighting
- Backtest results and screenshots
- Strategy concepts and ideas
- Questions and answers
- File attachments (small files only)
Community Guidelines
The community works best when everyone contributes:
- Help others when you can—you were a beginner once
- Be specific when asking questions (share code, not just "it doesn't work")
- Respect others' time and expertise
- Don't spam or solicit
- Keep discussions focused on trading and strategy development
Finding Help
Good questions get good answers:
text
# Bad question
"Why doesn't my strategy work?"
# Good question
"My RSI mean reversion strategy has zero trades over
6 months of backtesting. Here's my code:
[paste code]
RSI values range from 35-65 in this period. I suspect
my 30/70 thresholds are never hit. Am I reading the
data wrong or should I adjust thresholds?"Connection Limits by Plan
